Department: Operations

Working Hours: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM (1-hour lunch break)

Job Summary:

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of VC Electrical

Depo, ensuring compliance with cash handling procedures, sales operations, marketing initiatives,

human resource support, and security measures. The role requires strong leadership skills, attention

to detail, and the ability to implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for

efficient business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Store Operations Management

 Ensure all store equipment, including cash registers, computers, lighting, and security

systems, is functional before opening.

 Assign staff to their respective roles and oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency and

adherence to company policies.

 Monitor customer service standards, ensuring employees provide a professional and helpful

experience to customers.

2. Cash Handling & Financial Oversight

 Supervise cash handling procedures, including the issuance of starting floats and cash

reconciliation at shift changes.

 Enforce strict access control to cash storage areas, ensuring compliance with security

protocols.

 Investigate cash discrepancies and report findings to senior management.

 Ensure proper logging of all cash transactions and maintain accurate financial records.

 Oversee safe management, including secure cash deposits and compliance with dual-access

control procedures.

2 . Sales and Customer Service Operations

    Ensure pricing accuracy and the proper tagging of all products.

 Oversee the application of promotions, discounts, and loyalty rewards.

 Monitor sales transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.

 Manage returns and exchanges, ensuring policies are followed and customer satisfaction is

maintained.

3. Marketing and Sales Support

 Develop and implement marketing strategies to enhance store visibility and attract

customers.

 Coordinate in-store promotions and campaigns in alignment with company goals.

 Work with sales teams to optimize product placement and maximize revenue opportunities.

 Analyze sales trends and customer feedback to improve store offerings and marketing

efforts.

 Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source promotional materials and advertising

content.

4. Human Resource Support

 Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new employees.

 Ensure staff adhere to company policies, including attendance and performance standards.

 Support employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive work environment.

 Address staff concerns and escalate issues to senior management as needed.

 Oversee staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage for store operations.

5. Security & Loss Prevention

 Ensure that CCTV surveillance systems are operational and cover all critical areas.

 Conduct regular security checks to prevent theft, fraud, and other operational risks.

 Work closely with security personnel to safeguard cash storage areas and prevent

unauthorized access.

6. Staff Training & Compliance

 Conduct regular training sessions on cash handling procedures, sales techniques, and

operational policies.

 Ensure employees adhere to store policies, including customer service standards and cash

reconciliation processes.

 Perform periodic audits of store operations and cash handling to identify and correct

discrepancies.

7. Inventory & Store Closing Procedures

 Oversee inventory management to ensure products are in stock and properly maintained.

 Ensure end-of-day cash reconciliation is completed accurately and securely.

 Verify the final safe count and maintain accurate records of daily cash movements.

 Supervise store closing activities, ensuring security measures are in place.

Qualifications & Experience:

 Minimum 5 CSEC subjects to include Mathematics and English Language and any other

related subjects.

 Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in retail operations, cash handling, sales, marketing, or

human resource support roles.

 Proven leadership and team management skills.

 Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

 Familiarity with cash management software and POS systems.

 Excellent communication and customer service skills.

 Knowledge of security and loss prevention strategies.

 Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

 Ability to enforce compliance and security procedures effectively.

Working Conditions:

 Full-time position with weekend and holiday work as required as needed

 Requires standing and moving around the store for extended periods.

 Must be able to handle high-pressure situations and resolve customer or staff issues

promptly.

a high standard of operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and financial integrity.
